Direct strategy creation tool is the Strategic Problems Solving Model, based on the theory of Richard P. Rumelt.

This model consists of 3 phases: Challenge Diagnosis, Solution Idea and Coherent Actions. It allows to arrange all data and solve a problem.


He is one of the most influential people in strategy and management field. According to “The Economist” he is one of the top 25 contributors to management theory and corporate practice alive. “McKinsey Quarterly” called him “the strategist of strategy” and “great mind in the field of strategy”.

His book Good strategy-bad strategy was translated and published in Poland. In it Rumelt disposes of all questionable descriptions and embroiled ways of thinking at the base of too many strategies, instead offering a simple method of creating and implementing an efficient and action-oriented strategy, which works in modern world.


Going to Discover Strategy’s „Strategically Thinking Leader” training I’d thought that after 16 years of managerial education in banking area, with many domestic and international courses and workshops, nothing could surprise me.

I couldn’t have been more wrong. The Thinking on the edge game

The „Thinking on the edge” game is a lab for strategic thinking with conditions of turbulence and constantly changing situation.
It requires wisdom and recognition of when to compete and when it makes more sense to build trust which leads to cooperation.
During deliberations participants make use of the strategic tools introduced in lectures.

Participants develop a strategy, which they test during following parts of the game.

The game is played on large touchscreens, tablets and projector, which allow participants to access statistics and data. These are the base for analyses, which enable to adapt strategies to constantly changing conditions.
